LCD HDTV
Basically, a LCD works by passing light at the back of an LCD panel composed of a number of pixels. Every pixel on the LCD panel can be any of the colors red, green and blue. The colors can be switched on or off depending on the images being projected and this is done through applying voltage to it. If voltage is applied to a specific pixel, that pixel is switched off which means that no light can pass through.
Between a LCD and a plasma HDTV, the former does not suffer from burn-ins. Burn-ins are what some consider as after images. Even if the image is not present any more, faint traces of it can still be seen on the screen. This is also the reason why most gamers choose LCD HDTVs rather than plasma HDTV.
